The Riverfront York recently announced a new 12-month charity partnership with York Against Cancer, a leading independent charity supporting people affected by cancer across York and North & East Yorkshire.
The partnership will see a structured programme of fundraising initiatives, events and collaborative activity delivered across the site over the coming year, bringing together local businesses, visitors and the wider community in support of the charity’s work.
The initiative officially launched on 24th June 2026 with a Business Networking Event at Bosun’s Restaurant, bringing together members of York’s business community for an evening of networking and dining to mark the start of the partnership.
Further activity is planned throughout the year, with a focus on generating awareness, engagement and meaningful fundraising through The Riverfront York’s established hospitality, accommodation and events platform.
A Shared Commitment to the Local Community

“We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with York Against Cancer. As a family business rooted in the local community, it is incredibly important to us that we support causes that make a real difference to people’s lives.
Over the next 12 months, we are looking forward to creating a programme of events and initiatives that not only raise vital funds but also bring people together and raise awareness of the incredible work the charity does. This is a partnership we are very proud of.”
Andy Knowles, CEO of York Against Cancer, added:
