About Our Unique Stays

Set just South of York in an idyllic location on the River Ouse and wrapped up in a panorama of nature, The Riverfront York is a unique and welcoming family destination owned by a local Bishopthorpe family and Kerrie will be your host during your stay.

At the Riverfront we have several unique-stay shepherd’s huts, cabins and a luxury seven-bed boat for those wanting to enjoy the location for a little longer.

Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway, a family holiday or you are celebrating a special occasion such as a wedding or reunion, The Riverfront York has accommodation to match. We are situated just South of York and all our accommodation is within a 1-minute walk from Bosun’s our iconic restaurant and terrace.

It is possible to walk from our site into York, the majority of which is alongside the River Ouse, or you could always hop on the bus, take a short drive/taxi - or in the summer months you can even use the Riverbus from our site on weekends or on Tuesday and Thursday during school holidays - to explore the exceptional city that is York. We are also set in a backdrop of nature meaning that you can explore the local countryside by foot from all our accommodation.

Whether you choose to stay in one of our cosy cabins, or our converted barge ‘The Ark’, for larger parties, each accommodation is thoughtfully appointed to provide the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Drift off to sleep amidst the gentle lull of the river, creating memories that last a lifetime.

For a small additional charge one large dog or up to two small dogs are very welcome to join you in each of our Cabins and Shepherd's Huts but we don't allow them onto The Ark.
