The Riverbus departs from The Riverfront York at around 10.15am to York and returns to our site at around 4.35pm
Take a Unique Journey into the City Centre of York from The Riverfront York!
We have continued our partnership with City Cruises of York to operate a Riverbus stop here at The Riverfront York, running on Saturday and Sunday and also on Tuesday and Thursday (during normal school holidays).
The Riverbus Service takes the hassle out of exploring York by transporting you on one of the only routes without any traffic, and all the views!
During your leisurely cruise along the River Ouse to Kings Staith York, you'll spot Bishopthorpe Palace, the stunning 13th Century riverside residence of his Grace the Archbishop of York as well as the beautiful countryside that surrounds the city and landmarks in the city itself.
The Riverbus Service is a form of transportation, not a full sightseeing tour, but you will have all the facilities of those boats that operate on sightseeing cruises. You can also travel to and from Naburn Lock and Acaster Malbis from The Riverfront York.
Pre-Booking and Walk-Ups Welcome
Although City Cruises always advise pre-booking as a quick and efficient way of planning your visit to York (or other destinations) they do always make sure to reserve an amount of tickets on each cruise for walk-ups.
Additional Information:
1. Accessibility - If you have limited mobility or are a wheelchair user we recommend contacting City Cruises to confirm available facilities for the boats in advance of your trip. The Riverfront York does not manage the boats, however our landing at The Riverfront York (once completed) and the landing at King’s Staith in York are accessible.
2. Parking at The Riverfront York - There is no parking available for day-trippers at The Riverfront York.
